Drunk drivers hit with fines and road bans
while a third will get his day in court later.
Trevor Baisden pleaded guilty to driving while impaired at 1 p.m. on December 24 last year when Police saw him after a road traffic accident, at "Amen Corner'' Middle Road, Warwick.
He told officers he had been riding the cycle and a breath sample registered 99 mgs of alcohol in 100 mml of blood. The legal limit is 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mml of blood.
Baisden, 41, of 31 Convict Bay Road, St. Georges, was fined $600 and banned from driving for one year. The fine must be paid by the end of business today.
Desmond Smith, 24, of 7 Spicewood Drive, Warwick, was penalised an identical amount yesterday, after he pleaded guilty to having 113 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Smith, a barber, told officers he had drunk "three Guinness and two scotch and ales''.
Meanwhile Thomas Kane denied riding a motorcycle on Front Street while impaired and refusing to give a breath sample.
Kane was released on $750 bail and ordered to return to court for trial on April 16.
