-- not $300,000 as claimed by a top United Bermuda Party supporter, a Government insider said yesterday. The source -- who asked not to be named -- said: "I have no idea where that figure came from. But it's totally off the wall.'' The insider spoke out after David Sullivan, a former senior back-room figure in the UBP, said he heard the 20-page document cost a fortune to produce and distribute.
However the insider admitted the $35,000 covered just printing costs and did not include the time Civil Servants used to prepare the document or its distribution through the Bermuda Post Office. But he pointed out: "Government does own the Post Office.''
