Hooligans cause Hallowe'en trouble
cocktails and rocks.
Bottles full of flaming liquid were reported thrown near PHC Stadium, on Happy Valley Road and in Hamilton Parish.
Passers-by, cars and homes were the targets as youths armed with eggs and other missiles brought fear to traditional trick-or-treat pranks.
Damage was also caused to cars and homes on Saturday evening. One gang of five youths, aged 13 and 14, were caught on Keith Hall Road in Warwick with nearly 200 eggs ready to throw.
Firefighters believed trick-or-treaters could also have been responsible for a blaze in a trash can outside the Knick Knack store on Reid Street on Saturday night.
Police said the Molotov cocktail incidents were isolated and were not believed to have caused damage.
"All of the damage caused to property has resulted from youths throwing articles at homes and vehicles at several locations around the Island,'' said Police spokeswoman Sgt. Roseanda Jones.
"In some cases considerable amounts of damage have been caused. Luckily no-one has been hurt so far.
"We urge parents to impress on their young people the seriousness of what they are doing.
"They may think this type of behaviour is fun. To others, there is no fun in finding that your property has been damaged by pranksters.
"And there is no fun when your young ones are being brought home by Police.''
