Incinerator yesterday.

Works Minister the Hon. Leonard Gibbons and Works and Engineering officials led about 20 PLP MPs, executive officers, and members on a tour of the waste incinerator that is nearing completion on Palmetto Road.

Shadow Works Minister Mr. Walter Roberts said officials answered PLP environmental concerns.

Nobody could make definite predictions, but he felt confident most chemicals would be removed before emissions left the plant.

The PLP was mainly unhappy about the $70-million cost, which Mr. Roberts attributed to delays in decision-making.

The incinerator is to be fired up over the next few months.
