The incident took place on Wednesday around 11.30 a.m. near Friswell's Hill, Pembroke.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the altercation started when the victim went to collect something belonging to him. His assailant ran up to him and hit with the wood.

The alleged assailant was still in the area when Police arrived and was then arrested.
