The woman who Phillips allegedly assaulted appeared in court and said that she did not wish to proceed with the assault and damage charges. However, Acting Senior Magistrate Edward King said the charges had been laid before the magistrate, and so he must put them to the defendant.
A trial date was set for July when Phillips will also be sentenced for using offensive words.
