Man faces more prison time
added to his sentence for possessing cannabis.
Sean Chasty, 32, of Wellington Slip Road, St. George's, yesterday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to having .16 grams of cannabis on February 1.
Police prosecutor Sgt. Philip Taylor told Magistrate Edward King that Police stopped Chasty under suspicion of impaired driving at Crow Lane, Paget.
Sgt. Taylor noted that Chasty was later searched at Hamilton Police Station and when the drug was found he said: "What you think it is, it looks like weed.'' Chasty said he realised he was wrong, but also claimed it was a small amount.
"Even the tiniest amount can get you in trouble,'' Mr. King said before ordering Chasty to serve 28 days in prison. The time is to be served concurrently with the 18-month imposed on April 6.
