Bell, 41, of Southampton, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to punching the officer outside his ex-girlfriend's house in Sandys Parish in the early hours of September 22.
Police had driven by and seen a distressed Bell attempting to break into the house, prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said.
He told Police the woman had refused to let him in and he suspected the reason was that she had company, Insp. Duffy said.
The court heard things got heated when Bell tore up a black dress belonging to the woman and then smashed window glass panes with his feet. He hit the officer in the mouth while being arrested for breach of the peace, Insp. Duffy said.
