Pembroke man a $450 fine in Magistrates' Court.

And Dale Eugene Whitfield must return to court on October 1 for trial for unauthorised use of a credit card and stealing a pump from Bermuda Air Conditioning Ltd.

Whitfield, 32, of Happy Valley Road, pleaded guilty yesterday to stealing a cheque, number 525, from Donna Whitfield on September 26 last year.

prosecutor Phil Taylor told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that on October 2 his sister reported to Police her bank statement included a payment to Whitfield that she had not made.

On November 25, Whitfield was arrested and later admitted to stealing the cheque and forging, uttering, and inducing a Shopping Centre employee to hand over $93.86 in goods and $166.14 in cash.

Sgt. Taylor said he told Police he filled out the cheque at her Fenton's Drive home and claimed he owed her money for furniture.

Yesterday Whitfield told Mr. Francis he had completed a drug treatment programme and added: "I should have gone about getting the money in a better way.'' Mr. Francis fined Whitfield $100 each for each count of stealing, forging, and uttering the cheque.

Whitfield must also pay $150 for the charge of inducing the illegal transaction. All fines must be paid by July 29.

MAN CUT EX-GIRLFRIEND'S TYRE CTS Man cut ex-girlfriend's tyre Slashing his ex-girlfriend's tyre earned a Hamilton Parish man a $400 fine in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Geno L. Trott, 36, of Trinity Church Road, pleaded guilty to slashing the car tyres of Donna Marie Burrows on September 30 last year.

Prosecutor Insp. Anthony Mouchette told Magistrate Edward King that Trott telephoned Ms Burrows several times that morning to speak to their 13-year-old daughter.

Each time Trott verbally abused Ms Burrows after being told his daughter had already left for school.

At 7.50 a.m. Trott went to Ms Burrows' Coot Pond Road, St. George's home and began to bang on the windows and doors.

Insp. Mouchette said Trott -- who had a registered letter barring him from the property -- screamed verbal abuse and broke a screen door. He was later heard to shout: "I f**king did it.'' Trott was arrested after he admitted being at the house.

Yesterday Trott told Mr. King he was willing to pay restitution for the tyre and asked for a fine, rather than a prison sentence. Mr. King fined Trott $400, $100 of which is to be paid to Ms Burrows.

INQUIRY INTO INDECENT ACT CTS Inquiry into indecent act Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered a psychiatric and a social inquiry on a man caught masturbating at Horseshoe Beach last year.

Albert Simons, 35, of Cochrane Road, Sandys Parish, was watched by two off-duty Police officers near the women's changing area of the Horseshoe Bay Beach House on July 11.

Prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said they saw him put his right hand in his right pants pocket and stretch his T-shirt over his pants.

Simons was watched as he made "vigorous motions'' in his pants. He left the area of the Beach House and made his way to the beach area until he was stopped by a uniformed Policeman.

Sgt. Taylor said Simons was arrested and searched and a large hole was found in his right pants pocket.

He told Police: "I was tapping on my leg with a song in my mind and I guess it could look as if I was doing something.'' Senior Magistrate Will Francis heard that Simons has a record of 11 convictions for similar offences dating back to 1983.

Duty counsel Richard Horseman pointed out to the court Simons had not been in trouble for more than four years.

Mr. Francis ordered Simons to be remanded in custody until July 20 for the reading of the reports and sentencing.

"Here they are asking for another two weeks. This has been hanging over this man's head for two months. This man has had to pay each time.'' Crown counsel Lesley Basden said: "I take the point. We are asking for a further two weeks, the papers will be served in that time.'' Richardson, 27, of Philpott Lane, Sandys Parish was given bail to appear again in court on June 24. No pleas have been entered on the charges.
