Nathan John Sorrentino, 23, of Faries Lane, pleaded guilty in September to possessing .87 grams of cannabis on July 25.

Officers had approached three men in the parking lot on Cavendish Road near the Studio 55 nightclub at 1.20 a.m. after Police saw them smoking a homemade cigarette.

When asked what he was smoking, Sorrentino told Police: "It's tobacco.'' Sorrentino was taken to Hamilton Police Station where the cannabis was found in a Johnson and Johnson plastic dental floss container.

On Wednesday, Senior Magistrate Will Francis said he had read enough of a social inquiry report on Sorrentino and was satisfied with the Probation Officer's recommendations.
