Man robbed after lured into trap

having been lured there by a woman he met in a bar.

The man told Police he met the woman in the early hours of the morning and went with her to a house where one man held him down and another took his wallet, containing $68 in cash.

The alleged victim managed to escape, Police said.

A 32-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were later arrested. Police said their inquiries were continuing.

Other crimes reported over the weekend included a handbag snatched from a man outside St. George's Liquor Store on York Street, St. George's at 9 p.m. on Friday.

And a woman reported to Police that her handbag was snatched at about 2:15 a.m. on Saturday on Washington Street in Hamilton. She said the bag contained $230 and personal items.

Break-ins were reported over the weekend at Southampton Glebe School, though no theft was discovered, and at a residence on Langton Hill in Pembroke, where a briefcase and an electric razor were taken.

A break-in was reported at a house on Bulkhead Drive in Warwick, where $550 was stolen, and on St. Monica's Road in Pembroke, where a man was seen hiding behind a door inside a house, but ran away when discovered.
