following a violent assault outside a restaurant on Saturday night.

Police were called to the Il Palio restaurant in Somerset at about midnight and found the 38-year-old victim at the rear parking lot lying in a pool of blood.

The man was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where last night his condition was described as stable.

A 25-year old Somerset man was arrested at the scene and is now helping Police with inquiries. Anyone with any information about the assault should contact Somerset Police Station on 234 1010.
