Monitor to launch new programme
get its message out to more people.
The Boston-based consultancy group, which has been working locally over the past 18 months in a bid to boost Bermuda tourism, hopes to build on its previous efforts with the new plan.
Monitor spokesman Owen Stearns noted: "Our previous communications efforts have included dozens of public presentations, appearances on radio and TV programmes, press conferences, small group meetings and a 70-page document summarising our key recommendations and theories.
"We are now launching a new communications programme, which we hope will allow even more Bermudians from all industries to share in the conversation that has energised the tourism sector.
"We think we have pretty great credibility from word of mouth between the 200 to 500 people we have worked with but we still feel the other 60,000 people in Bermuda are not talking about us.'' The decision to revamp the communications scheme also came from public feedback, continued Mr. Stearns, which determined that Monitor should concentrate on one subject at a time in a simplified manner.
"This programme, called Theme of the Month, is being developed in response to feedback suggesting that the material CAG and Monitor typically present contains so many important topics that it is difficult to have a complete discussion of each one.''
