Gilbert Institute's deputy head Gloria Martin in January will replace Francis Patton principal Dorothy Williams who will retire at the end of the Christmas term.

And Education mentor Evereth Richardson will become acting principal of Somerset Primary next month, replacing Kalmar Richards who has been seconded to a deputy principal post at CedarBridge Academy. Mrs. Martin, who has 18 years of teaching experience in Bermuda, has worked at Elliott Primary School, Prospect Primary, and Gilbert Institute where she served as deputy principal for the past five years.

She is particularly interested in mathematics, science and technology education.

In the 1989/90 school year, Mrs. Martin received a sabbatical from the Education Ministry in order to pursue a master's degree in computer applications in education.

Mrs. Richardson spent most of those years at West Pembroke Primary School. She held several posts at the school during that time, including that of deputy principal for six years. For the past two years, Mrs. Richardson has been working as a mentor at the Education Department's central office.
