An application by Palmetto Bay Hotel and Cottages to demolish its present facilities and construct a new 15 suite hotel and 18 new dwelling units has been registered with the Development Applications Board.
But owner Edward Amaral told The Royal Gazette that there were no plans to change anything at the property at the moment.
He said the application was an attempt by his son to see what work could be done at the site on Harrington Sound Road.
"We are not doing anything. My son is trying to see what he can do in the future.'' The application was for a hotel with 15 suites, a dining room, bar, kitchen and reservations area, plus 18 dwelling units, two swimming pools and a dock.
