The Zenith returned to St. George's last night so the 59-year-old passenger, who was believed to be suffering from appendicitis, could be taken to hospital.
A Harbour Radio spokesman said the Celebrity Cruises vessel had left St.
George's at 3.30 p.m. and was bound for New York when it had to return.
It arrived back in Bermuda waters at 8.30 p.m., where the tender St. George transferred the woman ashore to be taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
