People needed to serve on special Government marine task forces
Members of the public who are interested in serving on Government committees looking into fishing and the marine environment, are being encouraged to attend a special organisational meeting.
The meeting is slated for Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Bermuda Industrial Union.
Interested participants will be assembled to work on a number of task forces geared to address concerns raised by the Green Paper on the Marine Environment & Fishing in Bermuda.
Each task force will attempt to resolve issues relating to commercial fisheries, environmental impacts, resource management, recreational fisheries and a number of other topics related to the Green Paper.
According to the Director of Agriculture & Fisheries, John Barnes, it is anticipated that each group will be chaired by a member of the Marine Resources Board and will have access to technical officers from the Fisheries division.
