Police exchanges revealed
months attached to various departments within the Metropolitan Police Service in London.
Two British officers of the same rank -- Patrick McRory and Paul Hoare -- will arrive in Bermuda around mid-January.
The exchanges are aimed at giving Bermudian officers experience in overseas Police services, while the Metropolitan Police officers are expected to bring their experience with recent crime-fighting methods to officers in the local service.
Chief Insp. Smith, who is responsible for training within the Bermuda Police Service, will trade roles with Chief Insp. McRory who currently works as Manager of the Criminal Unit on Kentish Town Division.
He is a veteran of more than 30 years service, with most of that time spent in the training department. He will head up the training department in Bermuda from January 31 while Chief Insp. Smith is attached to various training units within the Metropolitan Service.
Meanwhile, Chief Insp. Hoare, the crime manager for the Islington Division and officer in charge of its drugs and vice unit, will take over the Bermuda Police Service's Narcotics department while Chief Insp. Jackson will be attached to the Directorate of Intelligence and the National Criminal Intelligence Service.
