connection with a series of unrelated incidents over the weekend.

The blotter includes two robberies, a case of obtaining credit by fraud and an attempted robbery.

Two teenage tourists were robbed and roughed up in Dockyard after asking for directions early Saturday morning.

They were in an area pub and after becoming involved in a conversation with a group of men, asked where they could get a taxi.

The unsuspecting pair were led out of the restaurant and to the westbound bus lay-by and were allegedly set upon and robbed of a quantity of cash.

A loose tooth and other injuries were sustained. The attackers escaped toward Cochrane Road.

In a similar incident, a local man was called to a nearby parking lot as he left a Court Street nightclub.

He was jumped by about seven men who pushed him to the ground and robbed him of an unknown amount of money.

The man was able to run to Hamilton Police Station to report the incident and an unsuccessful search was made by officers.

And a taxi driver lost $60 by a fare jumper after 9.15 p.m. Friday night.

The fare was picked up outside the Bank of Bermuda on Bermudiana Road and was taken to Roberts Avenue, Devonshire.

The man left the car for what was supposed to be a brief stop, returned, asked for change for $50 and said he would be return.

After waiting a good half hour, the taxi driver realised the man was not returning and called Police. A description of the culprit has been provided.

Picking up hitch hikers proved dangerous for a local man after he was assaulted and cut, and his car windscreen smashed.

He picked up two men after 1.45 a.m. Saturday as he drove west on North Shore Road near Sleepy Hollow, Hamilton Parish.

One man got into the front seat, while the other got into the rear. As they approached the Shelly Bay Market Place, one of them pulled the hand brake and both demanded money.

After he told them he had none, the pair jumped out and hit the windscreen with an object.

He was also able to fend off serious blows for the suspects. The man called Police and went to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to a two-and-one-half inch gash to his face and scratches to his arms.
