Probation for throwing Molotov cocktail
sentence after he admitted throwing a Molotov cocktail at a house and receiving a stolen motorcycle.
Greene, 18, of Till's Hill, Pembroke, admitted both offences.
The first offence occurred last October when Greene became agitated after he learned that another man who owed him money was unable to repay the debt.
Greene then threatened to blow up the man's house and threw a Molotov cocktail at the house which is located on West Avenue, Southampton.
At the time the house was full of Greene's family members. During an earlier court appearance, Greene admitted that he threw the Molotov cocktail at the home but denied that he threatened to blow it up. The Molotov cocktail caused $177 worth of damage to the house.
In a second but unrelated incident, Greene pleaded guilty to receiving an auxiliary cycle knowing that it was stolen.
Police prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said that the cycle owner parked his vehicle at a home in Smith's Parish on July 8, 1995. When he came back the next day it was gone and he reported this to Police.
On July 15, Police officers on patrol near Horseshoe Road, Southampton, saw Greene seated on the cycle. They approached and arrested him.
Acting Magistrate the Wor. Kenneth Brown accepted that Greene would benefit from probation because he had no prior convictions and he had spent one month in jail already while he awaited sentence.
However, he warned him to stay off motorcycles and to get a job so that he can properly care for his two-year-old child.
He then sentenced Greene to probation for one year for throwing the Molotov cocktail and a six-month prison sentence suspended for one year for receiving a stolen cycle.
