The Works Ministry last week changed to a system of weekly pick-ups of both household trash and recyclables such as tins and newspapers.

Residents were also reminded to put their garbage out before 7.30 a.m. The new collection schedule, is as follows: Monday: Pembroke; Tuesday: St. George's and Hamilton Parish; Wednesday: Smith's, Devonshire, and all areas of Paget east of Trimingham Hill; Thursday: Southampton and Sandys Parish; Friday: All areas of Paget west of Trimingham Hill and the entire parish of Warwick.

If residents miss their pick-up, they are asked to either secure trash and recyclables on their property until the following week, or take the items to the drop-off area at Marsh Folly, which is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
