have added several truck loads of goods to the local relief effort.

More than 300 boys and girls in the Saltus Grammar Junior school collected clothes, toiletries, toys, bedding, and food to be sent in the Medjugorje Peace Plan Group's containers to Croatia for distribution to ethnic Albainian refugees.

One class even raised money through a bake sale to buy additional items for the effort, while many throughout the school added their own toys and stuffed animals.

W.J. Boyle and Son Ltd. donated hundreds of shoe boxes to the effort, organised by teachers Robin Siggins, Kay Latter and Carolyn Conway.

Anthony Bascome, a member of the school maintenance staff, volunteered to assist the truck loading.

Junior school head Christine DeSilva said the children had watched coverage of the exodus from the Kosovo province and wanted to help.

Mrs. Desilva said the children collected toothpaste and brushes, soap, towels, diapers, blankets, coats and other items that might be of use to people who have lost everything.

"The children prepared notes and letters for the Kosovo children but we had to be careful that we were not insensitive,'' she said. "As the world gets colder, we must do more things like this.'' FUND RAISER FNR
