And they amassed 756 points on their way to victory beating out Number Ten platoon with 671 points and Team Nine platoon with 620 points.

Seven platoon won the tug-o-war, best room, and platoon drill competitions and placed second in the inter-platoon football, inter-platoon volleyball and battle run events.

Number Two section placed first in the inter-section assault course and then went on to place first and second in the falling plate competition which was conducted in half sections of four men each.

Unsurprisingly, Lcpl Tatem, who commanded Two section and taught all the weapons handling lessons to his men, picked up the best section commander award for recruit camp and warrant officer second class Cleveland Simmons, coach of the winning Seven platoon drill squad, won the best drill instructor trophy.

Private Jennings of Seven platoon was first across the line in the five mile road race and Private Israel took home the award for the best shot.

The new recruits will now be responsible for all the ceremonial parades throughout the year starting with the Peppercorn ceremony in April.
