The Bermuda Society & Secretariat, a goodwill organisation which forges ties between Britain and Bermuda, is chaired by former Governor Viscount Dunrossil.
The annual dinner was postponed until after the General Election and is now set for February 3. Ms Smith has accepted the society's invitation to attend and speak at the function.

CRASH RIDER RECOVERING AC Crash rider recovering A 23-year-old motorbike driver involved in a serious accident in Warwick last week is now recovering in a general ward.
The accident victim was believed to have collided with a stationary heavy truck in Hillview Road, Warwick, on Wednesday.
He sustained serious head, face and internal injuries and was listed in critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery.
COX NAMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS GVT Cox names new board members Home Affairs Minister Paula Cox will today disclose a new Immigration Board.
Gary Pitman, the Board's former chairman and a United Bermuda Party MP, is expected to be replaced.
Ms Cox will also introduce the members of the first ever Immigration Advisory Council.
Last night she said it would be premature to comment on the changes.
