St. George's baker gets conditional approval for retail operation
The Development Applications Board has given conditional approval to St.
George's baker John Ming to turn a canteen space at the former St. George's Secondary School on Old Military Road into a retail bakery operation.
After some minor renovation work the operation, adjacent to Graham's Gym, is expected to be up and running by early summer. Mr. Ming intends to offer home-style baked goods, including a wide range of pies, cakes, and cookies.
In other DAB matters, approval in principal was given to Moonray Manor Trust to convert an existing detached house at 32 Crow Lane, Pembroke, into a three-unit apartment building.
The Board also gave the green light to Mr. Heath Foggo to change a commercial structure at 10 Two Way Mews into a tyre repair and sales operation.
The light industrial conversion was conditional on Mr. Foggo respecting the amenity of the neighbourhood and operating between the hours of 7.30 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
The operation must also provide parking and space so that four cars and four cycles can move about the lot, and restrict its operations to the interior of the building. There is to be no outside storage of materials, the DAB ruled.
