Storms hit electricity lines

Most recently, the Bermuda Fire Service and Belco responded to a utility pole fire near Greene's Guest House on Middle Road in Southampton at 1.23 a.m.
yesterday, a spokesman said.
One vehicle and four firefighters responded.
At 7.41 a.m. yesterday, a fault was found in the system after firefighters were called to the extended care unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by an automatic alarm. There was no fire.
At 6.06 p.m. on Wednesday, the Fire Service was called to a flooding on Pearman Hill in Hamilton Parish. An above-ground tank had overflowed, leaving a studio apartment with about one inch of water on the floor, the spokesman said.
Damage was estimated at $500.
Just before 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday, the Fire Service was asked to stand by with the Navy at the US Naval Air Station as a Navy aircraft landed with 33 passengers. An engine had malfunctioned, but the plane landed without incident.
