Study insurance in its capital
University of Hartford is an obvious choice for those interested in working in that industry. "Hartford is the insurance capital of the world,'' said admissions officer Sam Skinner, "so we have a lot of Bermudian students who come to us to study insurance and other related areas like actuarial science.
Many students find us because of that discipline.'' A private institution, the University of Hartford , has a student population of 4,000 undergraduates and is made up of nine colleges and schools. "It's an interesting place in that we have a lot of different programmes but we're not a large university,'' said Mr. Skinner. "Most of our classes have between 20 and 30 students. I think we would best be described as a `teaching university'. Members of the faculty do research and activities in the community, but teaching in the classroom is the most important thing to us. And when you talk with our students, especially those in their third or fourth year, their relationship with the faculty is most important.'' COLLEGE--UNIVERSITY FAIR MINI SUPPLEMENT SUP
