Supervisor hit by bottle
Court yesterday after pleading guilty to unlawfully wounding his supervisor by hitting him with a bottle of liquor.
Basil Sinclair Herbert, of West Park Lane in Pembroke, told the court he had become frustrated with Dennis Furbert, who he said had "abused'' him for two years.
"I told (Furbert) to get off my back but he just continued,'' said Herbert.
"I reported him to management, but nothing was done.'' Sgt. Earl Kirby, prosecuting, said a confrontation between the two men took place at Devonshire Rec on the evening of September 21.
As the argument escalated, Herbert "took exception to the way he was being approached by Furbert'', and struck him on the head with a bottle of Bristol Cream.
Furbert required four stitches to close the wound.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said although the 54-year-old was somewhat provoked, it was still inappropriate behaviour.
