Yesterday Senior Magistrate Will Francis bailed Mr. Bukhari to appear at next month's Supreme Court arraignments.

Yesterday's decision came at the beginning of a long form preliminary inquiry called to see if prosecutors had produced enough evidence to charge Mr.

Bukhari.

But following a request from prosecutor Mr. Patrick Doherty, Mr. Francis ordered the case to the Supreme Court.

Mr. Bukhari, who had served with the Bermuda Police Service since arriving on the Island in 1990 from the UK, was arrested last June following a five day inquest into the death of Ms Cadell. He was later charged with manslaughter.

Ms Cadell, 33, a former sub-editor with The Royal Gazette was found dead in the couple's apartment on Harvey Hill Road on May 31, 1997. A post mortem examination revealed she had swallowed 150 aspirin.
