Mr. Owen -- who arrived last Friday -- will address members of the American Bar Association of Litigation at a Bermuda meeting.

The ruling council of the ABA litigation section will be in conference at the Southampton Princess until Sunday.

Mr. Owen -- a lawyer and businessman -- made his money as a partner in the largest law firm in his home state of Michigan and as head of Owen Enterprises, an investment group concentrating on real estate and entertainment.

The new Consul General presented his credentials to Governor Thorold Masefield on Tuesday and will pay a call on Premier Jennifer Smith on Monday.
