Visitor, 64, hurt in collision

cycle on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1.30 p.m. on South Road in Warwick near the entrance to Marley Beach Cottages.

The cycle came around a blind bend and collided with the pedestrian who was crossing the road.

The 20-year-old cyclist fell into the road, suffering a gash to his leg and cuts and abrasions to his hands. The pedestrian was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and treated for possible broken ribs and cuts to her hands.

DUO SUSPECTED OF HAVING DRUGS CRM Duo suspected of having drugs Two men aged 18 and 20 were arrested on Friday night for allegedly possessing plant material believed to be cannabis.

Task Force officers searched the men in a car park at the junction of Reid Street and Spurlings Hill when the drugs were apparently found.

In separate incidents, a 27-year-old Pembroke woman was arrested on Friday night near Princess Street. She allegedly had a crack pipe. And a 35-year-old Pembroke man was arrested in the same area when he was said to be carrying a rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on Court Street on Saturday night when he was reportedly found in possession of a white powder.

And a 23-year-old was arrested on Saturday night in the Reid Street car park allegedly with a substance believed to be cannabis.

ACCIDENT VICTIM REMAINS `CRITICAL' AC Accident victim remains `critical' A 21-year-old Warwick man remains in critical but stable condition following a two-vehicle traffic accident on Friday morning.

Police said the man was travelling on South Road near the junction with Tee Street around 7 a.m. A Mitsubishi car driven by a 34-year-old Devonshire man began turning onto Tee Street when the accident occurred.

The cycle rider received serious head injuries and a broken leg and is in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

SMOKE BUT NO FIRE ON CRAFT FIR Smoke but no fire on craft A mishap with a local pleasure craft over the weekend proved that where there's smoke, there's not always fire.

Harbour Radio received reports yesterday morning of a vessel that appeared to be on fire near Shelley Bay. A local boat attended the scene and called Harbour Radio to report that a large amount of smoke was billowing from the 25-foot Sun Chaser .

Apparently the motor stalled and the overheated exhaust was responsible for the smoke, but there was no fire.

STRANDED LINER SOUND ALARM RES Stranded liner sounds alarm A local long liner radioed for help after being stranded more than 30 miles away from shore.

Passengers aboard the 70-foot long liner Arch Angel called Harbour Radio around 6.30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The vessel apparently had a blocked fuel line and was stranded 30 miles South of Gibb's Hill lighthouse.

A rescue boat was sent out at about 1 p.m. to meet the Arch Angel , which was drifting south at about one knot.

ARREST FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT CTS Arrest following alleged assault A 44-year-old St. George's man was arrested on Saturday night after allegedly assaulting a Police officer.

Police said the incident occurred at around 10 p.m. at King's Square in St.

George's.

Officers were called to the scene to handle a dispute between a couple over the use of a car. One of the officers was allegedly pushed and fell back hitting himself on the Police car.
