separate crashes.
The visitor was under intensive care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after Saturday's accident in Sandys Parish. Last night his condition was "stable''.
The crash occurred at about 5.45 p.m. when the man was riding his livery cycle down Scaur Hill.
Said Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning: "Another cycle apparently overtook the livery cycle and the rider subsequently lost control and fell into the road.'' P.c. Venning said the visitor suffered serious internal injuries.
Witnesses should contact P.c. Terry Pringle at Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
In the other accident, a 62-year-old woman suffered chest and leg injuries when her Subaru J10 hatchback ploughed into a palm tree on Palmetto Road, Pembroke, on Friday afternoon.
Police said the woman, who was last night in "satisfactory'' condition at hospital, appeared to lose control of the car in the Bishop Spencer Road area.
The vehicle, which was extensively damaged, mounted the kerb before hitting the tree.
