A US male visitor told Police he was sexually assaulted by a local man on Tuesday evening.

He said the man, who originally met him in Hamilton and gained his confidence, took him on a tour of the Island in a car.

The local man was then believed to have driven off the South Road in Smith's where he then forced the visitor to participate in a sexual act.

Another visitor told Police he was assaulted as he walked along Wesley Street in Hamilton around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He said a man grabbed him around the neck and demanded money.

When the visitor handed over his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash and personal papers, the robber stabbed him under his armpit causing a one-and-a-half-inch laceration.

Police took the visitor to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he received medical attention.

MAN ORDERED TO DO COMMUNITY SERVICE CTS Man ordered to do community service A man who assaulted his estranged wife's boyfriend was yesterday sentenced to 220 hours of community service.

Roderick Carlton Butler, 37, of Gilbert Road, Sandys Parish, had pleaded not guilty to trespassing, causing grievous bodily harm and destroying a telephone and furniture worth $60 at a previous hearing, but later changed his plea to guilty.

Crown Counsel, Miss Nita Grewal, argued that she saw no evidence of remorse in Butler and did not believe a community service sentence would help him.

She said a stronger sentence was needed to let Butler and community know "this kind of behaviour can not be tolerated''.

Butler's lawyer, Mr. Mark Pettingill, said: "Butler didn't go to the house to assault the man, he went to see his children who were glad to see their father.'' He added: "The mother's boyfriend tried to interfere and ended up losing a fight.'' Mr. Pettingill said Butler was under a lot of emotional stress at the time. He noted that even though Butler did get into a fight he never picked up a weapon.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said the crime did not warrant imprisonment and sentenced Butler to 220 hours of community service for both charges to run concurrently.
