The 32-year-old man said he left a nightclub on Court Street on his cycle and turned onto Dundonald Street. Two men, following him on another cycle, signalled for him to stop.
The victim said one of the men kicked over his cycle, removed the key, and approached him.
The second man approached him from behind, held a knife to his stomach, searched his pockets, and removed some cash.

The men then drove away on their cycle, leaving the victim uninjured.
CAN ANYONE OFFER A HORSE A HOME? ALS Can anyone offer a horse a home? A woman who paid to have a neglected horse nursed back to health is appealing to anyone interested in adopting it for a year.
Ms Jennifer Terceira said her friend, Mr. John Flood, took in the animal after the owner came to him and said he wanted to get rid of it.
"It was skin and bones in April,'' said Ms Terceira, explaining that she helped to pay the veterinary bills for the horse, Cambari, which needed to gain weight.
"He's healthy now and we are looking for an owner,'' she added. "We want to give it to the Riding for the Disabled. But they can't take it for a year because they are building facilities in Warwick.
"We can't take the responsibility for a whole year because we have a lot of other horses.'' Ms Terceira said the horse was capable of light work and maybe a gentle ride.
Anyone interested in taking Cambari for a year can contact Ms Terceira on 295-3961, extension 259.
