yesterday after their car overturned on St. David's Road.

The woman was driving her car in a westerly direction just east of the swing bridge around 1.15 p.m. when the car collided with a fence bordering the former US Naval base lands.

Her car flipped on to its side and was extensively damaged.

Also yesterday, a crane that was being carried on a trailer crashed through a fence on the perimeter of the former US Naval base lands around 2 p.m.

It apparently broke free from the trailer on which it was being carried while the trailer was negotiating a bend just east of the Chapel of Ease Road.

No one was injured although the road was partially blocked for some time while arrangements were made to lift the crane back on to the trailer.
