Shirlyn Burgess, 32, of Happy Valley Lane, Pembroke and Glenda Crockwell, 35, of Emily's Bay Lane, St. David's both have impaired hearing. They were helped through their Magistrates' Court appearance by Crockwell's sister Andrea.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis adjourned the case for social inquiry reports to be prepared.

Sgt. Rex Osborne, prosecuting, told the court they were caught leaving the store by a security guard on August 10. In their bags were three bags of chips, a hair curling iron, three sodas, five chocolate bars, three packs of mints, three packs of gum, two hairclip sets and a catch-ball toy. The value of the haul was $45.63.

The court heard Crockwell has a record of theft.
