-- after swearing at a pair of Police officers.

Lorna Weir, 35, and Shalima Lowe, 27, were charged with using offensive words in public, in Magistrates' Court yesterday. Lowe, of Narrow's Lane, St.

George's, was also charged with obstructing justice.

Police were called to Club 40 nightclub to attend to an unruly customer in the early hours of Monday morning.

The unruly customer, Weir, of Church Crescent, Hamilton Parish, was cursing at a club bouncer when Police arrived, saying: "I'm a f***ing woman. I have a f***ing ticket to get in.'' When Police told her that cursing in public was an offence and moved to grab her, she said: "F*** off!'' After a Police officer grabbed her, Lowe said: "Take your hands off my f***ing friend.'' Lowe tried to grab Weir away from the officer.

"Why are you taking my f***ing friend?'' she screamed.

Both ladies woke up the next morning in custody and apologised to the officers, admitting they were "incredibly drunk'' to Senior Magistrate Archie Warner.

"Sounds like you young ladies were on a warpath that night.'' Mr. Warner said they seemed sorry and sincere, giving them a conditional discharge for 12 months.

As long as they are not brought up on other charges for twelve months, they will not face sentencing for these charges.
