The Royal Gazette took to Hamilton yesterday to gauge local opinion. Mr.

Leonard Ming , who was hired as an extra to play a Policeman, said he felt the movie made Bermuda "look wonderful''. "It was good exposure for Bermuda and it showed the Island's best side.'' Mrs. Adrienne Cotterill said she considered the movie just another fun Wednesday night show. "It was not meant to be a tourism movie, it was a movie for pleasure.'' Commenting on Government MP the Hon. John Stubbs' outburst, she added: "I think he was over the top.'' Mr. Jermaine DeSilva said he wasn't particularly impressed. "It was all right. I liked the way they projected the Island but there were no Bermudians.'' Mrs. Emily Chisnall said: "I didn't like it. It was boring and all talk. But the scenery was beautiful.'' She said she agreed with the comments made by Dr.

Stubbs, who called the film an "abomination''.

Mr. Carlos Caisey said: "I feel that the movie exploited Bermudians and Bermuda in general. We don't use guns on the Island and they also had a car, just out of the shop, that did over 100 mph. Our speed limit is only 20 mph.

"They also exploited our Customs and Immigration departments by showing them allowing guns onto the Island, which we don't. '' Commented Mr. Dennis Wainwright: "I disagree with Dr. Stubbs. That's what cop shows are all about. However, they could have used more Bermudian actors.'' But Mrs. Lainie Andrew said: "The movie put me to sleep. The only reason I watched it was because I live here.'' Henry and Eunice Talbot felt the movie didn't depict Bermuda accurately apart from the shots of Island scenery. "I didn't think we had so many limeys in Bermuda,'' Mr. Talbot said. "They should have had more locals in the movie.

When you did see Bermudians, they only showed their legs because the camera kept moving.'' Royal Gazette cartoonist Mr. Peter Woolcock said he was unable to tell the "goodies from the baddies''.

"Two main ingredients for a cops and robbers series are fast car chases and guns. You cannot reconcile that with Bermuda. Why make that kind of series in Bermuda. I found it uncomfortable when I couldn't choose the goody from the baddy.

"I don't know why they chose that person (Bill Sadler) to play the hero. The movie caters to a world that knows nothing about Bermuda.'' Mrs. Emily Chisnall Mr. Dennis Wainwright Mr. Henry Talbot Mrs. Adrienne Cotterill.
