Mr. Gibbons, who plays professional cricket in England, said: "I don't want to say anything about this. It's a personal matter.'' He has been instructed to stay silent by lawyer Mr. Delroy Duncan, of law firm Hall, Duncan and Trott.
Mr. Gibbons, 37, of Lime House Lane, Bailey's Bay, is considered by many to be Bermuda's best ever cricketer.
He has played for the national side many times, including taking part in four International Cricket Council (ICC) competitions which carry qualification for cricket's World Cup.
He is the leading run scorer and wicket taker in Eastern Counties cricket and has three times been voted Cup Match's Most Valuable Player, playing for St.
George's.
This summer he achieved a life-long ambition by playing professional cricket in England.
He had an outstanding season for Halesowen in the Birmingham League Conference and was selected to play for his league's representative side.
A date for the court hearing has not been fixed.
