Crown Counsel Mr. Khamisi Tokunbo finished the Crown case and the team for the defence, Mr. Frank Phipps QC, from Jamaica, and Mr. Edward Bailey, concluded their case for the appellant.

The three-judge Court of Appeal reserved judgement in the case until a later date. It is expected they will give their decision before the end of the month.

Charlene Webb, 27, last week began an appeal against her conviction and sentence at a Supreme Court trial earlier this year.

She was sentenced to 12 years in prison in May after being convicted of conspiring to import drugs worth almost $200,000 into Bermuda.

Webb, a administrative worker at St. Brendan's Hospital, used the US Navy Base and US Navy personnel in her scheme.

Co-conspirators Oswald Farrel and Carl Storey were both sentenced to terms of imprisonment by US Navy Courts Martial.

Farrel served six months in jail after agreeing to testify against Webb.

Storey was sentenced to five years, but served only 15 months after turning Queen's Evidence.
