have occurred late on February 14, not early on February 15 as previously suspected.
The 42-year-old Warwick man was taken to the intensive care unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital suffering from chest injuries on February 15 and died on February 17.
Police originally suspected that Mr. Smith was driving along Middle Road in Southampton on the morning of February 15 when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.
It was believed that he then went to the nearby Whispering Hope Rest Home where an ambulance was called.
However it is now believed that Mr. Smith was riding his motorcycle along the stretch of Middle Road between Main Attractions and the Port Royal Fire Station on February 14 when the fatal mishap occurred, said a Police spokesman.
"Mr. Smith then apparently dragged his bike into the forecourt of Main Attractions before managing to walk back to his residence at the Whispering Hope Rest Home.
"As a result of his injuries, an ambulance was summoned the next -- Sunday -- morning, and he was conveyed to the Hospital, and subsequently died, Tuesday afternoon.'' The spokeswoman said Police were desirous of tracking Mr. Smith's last movements and would like to speak to anyone who spoke with him from early Saturday evening onwards. Investigating officer P.c.
