Air arrivals to Bermuda are up

A total of 5,267 people flew in to the Island between February 27 and March 5 -- 164 more visitors than the 5,103 who came during the same period last year.
In the year to date, 29,723 people have come to the Island by air -- 492 fewer than the 30,215 who visited during the corresponding period of 1994.
That represents an overall decline in visitors of 1.6 percent.
FUBLER'S FATE MAY BE DECIDED TODAY CTS Fubler's fate may be decided today Joanne Elizabeth Fubler could find out her fate later this afternoon because the judge in her Supreme Court theft trial is expected to finish his summation this morning.
Fubler, 33, who originally faced a 14 count indictment, had two charges of stealing and one fraud charge dropped against her.
She is alleged to have stolen more than $36,000 over three years from her Horizons Limited employers.
The offences were alleged to have occurred while she was employed as an accounts clerk with the company between 1985 and 1992.
MAN ARRESTED FOR STOLEN CYCLE PARTS CTS Man arrested for stolen cycle parts Police on Tuesday arrested a Pembroke man whom they suspected of stealing stolen cycle parts.
An officer on patrol in the area of Trott Road, Pembroke, around 10 p.m. on Tuesday found the 26-year-old removing parts from a cycle which was believed to have been stolen.
Inquiries into the incident were continuing.
POLICE INVESTIGATE BREAK-IN CRM Police investigate break-in Police are investigating a break-in at a residence in Riviera Estate, Southampton.
An occupant of the residence told Police she was in her bedroom around 11 a.m.
on Tuesday when the intruder broke in downstairs.
The intruder fled empty handed upon discovering that someone was at home.
FIREMEN PUT OUT BRUSH FIRE FIR Firemen put out brush fire Two fire trucks and nine personnel were called to extinguish a brush fire opposite Warwick Academy on Tuesday.
The fire occurred at 132 Middle Road, and a call reached the fire station at 6.30 p.m.
The fire burned in an area where regular controlled fires usually take place but had been banned recently. Logs and debris in the perimeter of a six by four foot area blazed until fire officers extinguished it using one booster reel.
SPRING BREAK GETS UNDERWAY TOU Spring Break gets underway Bermuda College's student council is planning to jump start Spring Break activities this weekend.
A three-on-three basketball tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Shelly Bay basketball courts.
Anyone 16 or over can register to take part in the tournament which will be held from noon to 5 p.m. each day.
The registration fee is $8 per person and registration forms will be available at room S-225 of the college's student centre at Stonington, the college Registrar's office, and at the event.
There will be prizes for the first, second, and third place finishers as well as conciliation prizes for all participants.
