`Alabama' fined for trespassing
George's cost him $300 in fines after he admitted trespassing on the property on two occasions.
Anderson, 53, clad in a grey three piece suit jacket, black pants, and an unmatched pair of shoes, pleaded guilty to both offences which occurred in St.
George's on October 26 and December 2 1994.
Police Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne, said Anderson, who lives at Old Wells' Lane, St. George's, was sent a letter by the Tavern's owners which forbade him from ever entering their premises.
On October 26, Police were called to the Tavern around 5:30 p.m. after Anderson was located on its patio shouting obscenities at patrons.
Last Friday, he was seen talking to patrons who were dining around 1:00 a.m.
Anderson said he knew some people who arrived at Penno's wharf on a yacht.
After speaking with them, he decided to take a short cut near the tavern when a patron threw him a scallop.
Regarding his most recent offence, Anderson said he was considering bringing charges against the Policeman who arrested him because they "knocked a cold beer out of (my) his hand.'' Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis, listened patiently to Anderson's excuses before imposing a $150 fine for each offence.
Meanwhile, Mr. Francis set a December 21, trial date in order to find out whether Anderson was convicted of another trespassing offence that occurred on September 9.
Anderson claimed he pleaded guilty to that offence at an earlier date and paid a $150 fine, although Police said they have no record of this.
