WOMAN IN THREAT TO SHOPKEEPER CTS A social inquiry report was yesterday ordered for a 27-year-old woman who threatened to kill a shopkeeper.

Cheryl D. Burgess, of Duck's Puddle Drive, Hamilton Parish, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to using threatening behaviour and possessing an offensive weapon.

Police were called to Dub City Variety on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish shortly after noon on October 18.

When they arrived they saw Burgess waving a knife at an employee and cursing, prosecuting Insp. Peter Duffy said.

Burgess cursed a Police officer who asked for the knife.

"I'll f... you up too,'' Burgess told the officer.

Insp. Duffy said she was eventually restrained and taken to St. George's Police Station.

But she refused to cooperate with Police there and was taken to the Co-ed Facility.

Duty counsel Miss Elizabeth Christopher said Burgess, who had no recent convictions, was responding to an incident that happened the previous night.

Burgess claimed the employee had used profanity to her and when she returned to ask him to repeat what he had said, threatened to run her down with his car.

Burgess was bailed for $500 and ordered to return to court on November 9 when a social inquiry report is due.
