A firebug is thought to have wrecked a 26-year-old Policewoman's car outside her Warwick home.
Heat also damaged the side of the house, causing several windows to break.
The incident in Hillview Road occurred at about 8.45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police say the officer ran from her house after hearing a noise and discovered the Rover engulfed in flames.
A suspect -- wearing a dark sweat top and blue jeans -- was seen running from the scene. He was chased by the officer's husband and a relative, but managed to escape.
"The incident is being investigated as a case of arson,'' said Police spokesman Gary Venning.
A Fire Service spokesman said the blaze caused about $15,000 damage to the car.
