Assailants draw six-month jail terms
and causing wilful damage.
Art Delano Tyrell and Robert Lee Pitcher were found guilty of beating up Delante Hodsoll after they entered his apartment on Mullet Bay Road, St.
George's, early Christmas Day last year.
Senior Magistrate Edward King heard how the two men had allegedly kicked their victim in the jaw, hit him with a screwdriver, pipe and statue and burned him with a hot iron.
They then dragged him to Rocky Hill Park and threatened to throw him into the sea.
Mr. Hodsoll was saved after a neighbour was disturbed by the fracas and came to his rescue.
Both Tyrell and Pitcher, along with a third defendant, Kuji Wade, were cleared of stealing alcohol from the house and attempting to steal $2,000. Tyrell was also cleared of using a beer bottle as an offensive weapon.
But Tyrell and Pitcher were also given a one month prison sentence after being found guilty of causing wilful damage after the bathroom door and sink were wrecked in the scuffle. Both sentences will run concurrently.
