He is also accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to burn the child on May 29, 1991.

No pleas were taken at yesterday's hearing before Puisne Judge the Hon. Mrs.

Justice Wade.

Mr. Delroy Duncan, defending, said he had not received the Crown's papers on the indictment.

Also at the monthly arraignment session was 52-year-old Winslow Vancourt Durrant.

Durrant is charged with robbing the Warwick Mini Mart in Middle Road on or about March 5, armed with a machete. He is said to have taken $300.

He admitted the offence, and was remanded in custody for sentencing until July 19.

A man accused of rape between September 30, 1992 and January 7, 1992 had his case put back until August 2.

The defendant is also accused of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 14, and indecently assaulting such a youngster.

The man denied the three charges. He was remanded in custody.

Another man charged with assault with intent to rape on February 17 also had his case adjourned until August 2.

He is accused additionally of indecently assaulting a woman, and burglary with intent to commit a felony.

The man denied the three charges.

Sentencing of a Devonshire man charged with importing 7.5 grams of heroin, worth $7,200, was fixed for July 27 following a social inquiry report.

Patrick Winston Eugene Smith, of Cedar Park Road, pleaded guilty to importing the drug on February 1, and was remanded in custody.

Mr. Timothy Marshall, defending, said Smith was aged 22 and had no previous drug convictions.

He said the amount of drug involved was "relatively small'', adding his client had been trying to deal with his heroin addiction.

The case against Hubert Leroy Rogers was adjourned until August 2. He was remanded on bail.

Rogers denies three counts of possessing a drug intended for supply.

These include .23 grams and .21 grams of heroin, and .30 grams of cocaine.

He also denies two charges of possessing a drug, including .02 grams of heroin and .30 grams of cocaine.

The alleged offences were committed on or about December 20, 1992.

An August 2 date was also set for the hearing of Michael Eugene Dillas, who denies possessing cocaine. His bail was extended.

Banker Calvin Shabazz's trial on charges of stealing and fraudulent false accounting was fixed for November 2. His bail was extended.
