Beach concession has attracted four applications to run a food stand for three
Corporation Secretary Nancy Hooper said the City's fathers would decide on who will run the concession before the onset of the tourist season, after a week-long tendering period which ended on Friday.
Businessman, turned independent politician Kenneth Bascome and his wife Rochelle have operated the concession since 1980. Mr. Bascome is also a Corporation councillor.
The Corporation changed the terms of the lease from one year to three years to give the concession operator incentive to make improvements and recoup his or her investment.
The concession operator is chosen by the property committee of the Corporation.
Mrs. Hooper said some of the applicants had made proposals for improvements to the pavilion and the property committee would make a recommendation to the Corporation.
