broken leg and head wounds in Somerset on Saturday night.

Police had been summoned to the junction of Scotts Hill and Beacon Hill Roads at 10.30 p.m. by the man's flatmate.

The victim, who was covered in blood, had no recollection of what had happened to him, while the flatmate could offer no further clues.

The wounded man was taken to hospital where he was treated for two deep lacerations to his scalp and severed hand tendons as well as the broken limb.
