The Fab Four's music is being featured in a special Department of Tourism promotional film.

But although the group's classic composition "In My Life'' will provide the score -- Bermudians will perform it.

Tourism department spokeswoman Ms Wendy Davis said it was hoped memories of John, Paul, George, and Ringo would appeal to a key group being targeted in the film.

She also said the words of the song ideally captured the essence of the film -- which underlined Bermuda as a "solid and quality'' destination.

"The song talks about places which are tried and tested -- just like Bermuda.'' Performing the score will be students from the Menuhin Foundation, solo vocalists, steel drummers, a bag-piper, and a gospel choir.

Conducting the foundation students will be Mr. Ogden Stiers, star of the popular TV series Mash .

Mr. Stiers will also narrate the film which will focus Bermuda's diverse culture, heritage, and uniqueness.

"It will really be a broad introduction to Bermuda for those who have never come here,'' said Ms Davis.

Four versions of the film will be made -- the main one being 15 minutes long.

Another will last seven minutes, and two five-minute versions will concentrate on culture and heritage, and activities and sports.

Filming will begin next Wednesday, followed by one-week shoots in June and July.

The film -- to be mastered on video tapes -- will be used to market Bermuda in North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

It will be made by Toronto-based The Partners Film Company, responsible for the last promotional film.

Ms Davis said it was hoped the film would be produced by the end of December, and released in early 1993.
